Gan Fenfeng joined Jianglang Technology Co., Ltd. in 2022 as an injection molding operator. He is diligent and conscientious in his work, approaching every task with rigor and care. On the day of the incident, Longquan Port was cold and wintry. The river, 43–60 meters wide and 2.0–2.5 meters deep, had swift currents and hidden whirlpools, making wading extremely dangerous in the low temperatures.

While working in the vegetable field, Gan Fenfeng suddenly heard a loud splash from the river and immediately realized someone had fallen in and was in great danger. Staying calm, he acted without hesitation, fully aware that the icy winter water and fast current of Longquan Port posed serious risks even to skilled swimmers.

As the woman began to sink and time was running out, he shouted for nearby passersby to call the police, then took off his coat and jumped into the freezing river despite the danger. The icy water and strong current immediately battered his body, greatly increasing the difficulty of the rescue.
